At the site of Superior Court of Rhode Island, this project is trying to redefine and challenge justice and existing judical system by designing a new Superior Court. Looking at historical courthouse in different cultures, a pattern of rigid design is there both in the form of the courtrooms and the program arrangement has shown.

This project takes a cubic form with figural voids carved out to repersent freedom in justice and link two field of urban network (education and governmental facility) together on two sides of the river. The massing strategy tries to acknoledge the relationship between justice and freedom by playing with the solid and void; the spatial quality repersents the power of justice; the position of bar has been redesigned to bring the justice from the front of public to where among all people in the center of the crowd
